The Best of Craig's Hut 5 days/4 nights

Day 1 - Departing from Sheepyard Flat, we head out on our trusty steeds, up the Howqua River crossing the river many times and providing some cooling relief on a hot summer’s day. We travel amongst the towering Mountain Ash and luscious tree ferns then making our way to Seven Mile where we stop to relax and enjoy some lunch.  From here we head off to Pikes Flat where our support crew has camp set up for us and there is time for a dip in the river before settling in for the night.

Day 2 - The next day, after a hearty breakfast, we take the time to have a bit of a stretch to get those muscles working before we mount up for our trip to the infamous Craig's Hut. Along the way we stop to take in the breathtaking views. On the way we meet up with our support team who have lunch ready and waiting for us, always a welcome sight after a good mornings ride! After lunch it's onwards and upwards as we make our way to Craig's Hut and a chance to explore the Hut and take some photos, we're back on our horses and headed not to far away to our camp for the evening just below Craig's Hut.

ay 3 - After a bush breakfast, we mount up and make our way down in to the beautiful King Valley.  We stop in at the picturesque Pineapple Flat for a bite of lunch and maybe a dip in the King River.  After lunch we continue on our way to the secluded Panican Creek  where the camp fire is inviting, the drinks are on ice and the pre-dinner nibblies are waiting. we ride up out of the valley on to Mountain Number 3 over the rugged ridgeline of Razorback past the Pinnacle and Number 3 Refuge Hut. From here we enjoy a relaxing ride back to our camp at Razorback.

Day 4 - The fourth day we  ride up out of the valley on to Mountain Number 3 over the rugged ridgeline of Razorback past the Pinnacle and Number 3 Refuge Hut. From here we enjoy a relaxing ride back to our camp at Razorback. As usual our supply vehicle already has the campfire roaring and dinner underway. After a hearty meal, we settle down to relax around the fire and enjoy the evening.

Day 5 - On the final day, after breakfast we ride out, out through the head waters of the Delatite River crossing the river 15 times as we follow the river spur down to Mirimbah at the base of Mt Stirling and Mt Buller.  Surrounded by towering Mountain Ash soaring up to reach the sun whilst shadowing the lush tree ferns on the forest floor below. After lunch we continue on to Carters Road where our adventure ends.
